5 Things/ Tips to Get You Through Finals

Heyo cheerios! Many of us tend to get behind on some subject, and when deadlines pop up, we start stressing out even more! I can tell you from experience, it’s no fun. Today I’m going to show you a few things that I’ve learned, and I hope they help you too!

1. If you listen to music while doing school, make sure it’s instrumental!

This may be a no-brainer, but it’s a big thing. I’ve had countless times that I simply got distracted by my lyrical music when I was trying to do my schoolwork. Why? Because I wanted to sing along, of course! I’m pretty confident that you can say that for yourself, so if you like music, movie soundtracks are GREAT. πŸ‘ Sometimes music actually helps people concentrate (which is true for me).

2. Only focus on the assignments that you MUST have submitted in order pass the class.

This is if you’re behind on assignments, which you might not be! Trust me, just focus on getting the most important projects in to your teacher first, and then you can tackle the lesser ones. Now, this is only really relevant for online classes. I have one online class, and that’s the only subject I have deadlines on and is actually possible to fail. xD

3. Even if you’re INCREDIBLY CRUNCHED FOR TIME, take a break every once in a while.

This is something that’s probably on every single list out there, but for a good reason! If you get up and spend five (or even just two!) minutes doing something active, you’re giving your brain a rest and helping your body! Do some jumping jacks. Run up and down a staircase several times. You could also actually go outside and run around your house three times, and this way you’re getting fresh air too. πŸ˜› *feels like a hypocrite because she doesn’t do it herself* Seriously, I know the feeling of staring at your computer screen, having typed so many words and read so many articles, feeling completely BRAIN DEAD. Feeling basically like you’re without a doubt going to fail. Putting this tip into action will give you energy and rest you mind, something you definitely need.

4. Don’t neglect hygiene.

Personally, I find that when I’m crunched for time and stressed, I tend to put off brushing my teeth in the morning, and then I completely forget about it. I also know that if I need a shower, I absolutely can’t be productive until I’ve taken one. It’s no fun to feel dirty! Don’t feel like you need to take a shower everyday; that can be a pain. Taking showers every other day like I do is sufficient! πŸ™‚ why do i feel like a hygienist now Feeling clean makes all the difference in the world, and like I said, it can definitely boost your productivity.

5. Close out Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and any other social media platform.

The last thing you need is that kind of distraction. Just do it.

That’s it cheerios! For once I’ve posted something helpful. xD Honestly, I feel like I’m just bossing you around… πŸ˜‚ Welp, I hope these are a help you, and I’ll see you next semester. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘Š

  2. aaaahaha um yes.
How are your posts always so good Kenechi???
I don’t have any finals or big tests coming up but I got me some other big things: a debate and a forensics competition right after each other. 😝
I totally get the hygiene one. I have discovered that fixing my hair in the morning and tidying the house both help me focus with school, and taking walks are priceless. Plus taking hot showers in the dark. (Those are the best. πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‚)
It’s easy for me to get caught up on β€œbut I need time to study!” Or β€œbut I need time to practice” but I have discovered that I can sit all day at my desk and get nothing done, when I could have been energized by getting up and going outside to return and complete the work in half the time. Being able to stay attentive is vital and something I am trying to work on.
    Great post! πŸ˜„

    1. This comment is epic. Ahem.
No no no, I’m certain that if you wrote this post there would be a lot of other helpful tips! πŸ˜„ (not kidding)
*really, really wants to try taking a shower in the dark now*
YOU LITERALLY JUST SAID IT ALL. It’s ridiculous the amount of time I’ve wasted NOT doing schoolwork while sitting at my desk. *shakes head*
      Thank you! πŸ˜€

  3. I can listen to singing music while writing and things if I keep it kinda quiet…I was never allowed to do it during school. πŸ˜†
If at all possible I have to shower every day but I agree…unless I’m working outside I feel so less productive. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    1. Lol, I get that. πŸ˜† For me it was mostly math. πŸ˜›
Ooh, another reason why I don’t take them every day is because I tend to take… forever (*sister shouts in the background* “You take YEARS!!”). So yeah. πŸ˜‚

  4. Ahh! These are AWESOME tips!! I definitely cannot listen to music with words while working, because I just love to listen to the lyrics! XD I am going to have to try the running around the house tip! This was definitely a helpful post! πŸ˜€
