July Wrap-Up!

Hello, chums! It’s that time! What time? Wrap-up time!

This month has been… normal? Yes, I guess it’s been pretty normal. A few exciting things have happened, such as an enormous storm that hit. It was pretty epic, but it blew our trampoline over the garage and ruined it. We only had that thing for a week! RIP, trampoline.

The whole fam went to some pro fireworks! And we helped out with VBS. 🙂 It was a blast, but a very hot day! We spent most of it inside, away from the unbearable heat. We (I say we as in, the games team, which I was in.) also found a horridly creepy bug. CREEPY. I also had a fantastic time with Summer Bored Games! Recently we went on a whole-day trip with friends that ended up being cut short due to a ball-joint and axle breaking (or something??). Other than those adventures, we went swimming a few times, but most of the time I was a hermit and retreated into my little personal space. 😀

Books Read

  • The Mysterious Benedict Society The whole thing, for the second time.
  • The Giver and Gathering Blue
  • The Secret Keepers Highly recommended! (especially if you’re a fan of the Mysterious Benedict Society)
  • … I’m pretty sure there were others… I swear.
  • Oh, I’m also working on a few other non-fiction ones.

Movies Watched

  • Captain America Epic!!
  • The Avengers Epic!
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier Epic!!
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet Eh.
  • Mulan 1 and 2
  • The Parent Trap And old favorite. 🙂
  • The Moonspinners Pretty good!
  • Race to Witch Mountain Also pretty good
  • The Nutcracker Okay. 🙂
  • Jurassic World Ooh!
  • A Dog’s Purpose

Words Written

Heh, thing is, most of my writing was on short stories. Shorts: 2202 Actual WIPs: Somewhere around 600, ’cause I’m too lazy to find out for sure.

Recent Art

Some of these are from a little before July, but I think I’ll show them anyway. 🙂

Yay! This was one of my first acrylics, taught by Grammie. Funny story, I had to start over on these bananas after I lost the first ones. We completed this over several days (I found the old one, Grammie! XD), so I was dong the whole thing again in two days while my sisters had a bit longer. 😛 My brother had little time as me, so I don’t feel so bad. 😀 I don’t know if any of that made sense.

This one was so extremely fun! This one (no surprise) was also taught by Grammie! She’s amazing, and half of the credit goes to her. ❤

This was the last one that Grammie taught us for the year. Isn’t it positively beautiful? ❤ Horrible photography on my part. But, just aahhhhh!

Now some I did on my own:

Hehe, kind of a dream? I guess?

To be honest, he looks a little weird, but I enjoyed the cartoony-ness of it. 🙂 His face is kind of blurry…

Cue the Darth Vader breathing! I didn’t have all the right shades of black so that’s why he looks a little light. 😛

BB-8! I love this little guy. ❤ These colored ones were done in marker, by the way.

*coughs* You can tell by now that I really like Star Wars. XD Not as much as Marvel, however. 😉 This is kind of a Disney-fied version of Kylo.

Oh yeah, I’ve got another Star Wars one…

Do not… ask. I have no idea.

Okay, I gotta admit I’m preeetttyy proud of this one!! ❤ Aladdin is one of my faves. 😀 And that wraps up the art! I’m pretty satisfied with how they turned out. 🙂 ❤

I feel like there’s a lot more to say, but I’m too impatient to get this out. My apologies. 🙂

So, how was your July? Do you like Marvel or Star Wars better? Which art piece was your favorite?

Adios!

      1. TY and, yes, I do protest. Sometimes I feel like the blind leading the blind. 😉 I am SO happy to see you making art on your own. I really like the first dream picture. My second fav is the girl with the flashlight. Then it’s a tie between Yoda and Aladdin. I think I’ll look into incorporating some fan art into our art class.

      2. I don’t see my first reply, so I’ll try again. TY and, yes, I protest. I feel like the blind leading the blind sometimes when it comes to art class. 😉 I’m SO happy to see you are making art on your own. My fav is the first one, the dream one. My second is the girl with the flashlight. And then it’s a tie between Yoda and Aladdin. We can have more than one fav one, right? 🙂 I think I will look into incorporating fan art into our art class.

      3. Hehe, your first comment worked, I think. 😛 Aw nah, I think you’re at least only half blind, while we’re completely blind. 😀 I really love the dream one, too! I got inspiration from Pinterest on that one. 🙂 I totally had no idea what I was doing or where I was going with the flashlight girl, but it’s interesting. Oh, yeah, have as many favorites as you like! ❤ I would LOVE having fan art a part of our class. Any chance you could teach me to paint Captain America? XD 😉
